As a community organizer, activist and professor it’s often hard to slow down and pay attention to my own health and wellbeing, but Miriam’s gentle approach made it feel easy.

Now about 6-months after my last session with her, I can still see the effects of our work together. I cook at home more and eat out less and almost always bring my lunch with me to work — and it feels easy and fun to make the time for cooking… not like a burden or a deprivation.

Overall, I can tell that i have more energy. I’ve also managed to slow my life down, take time for self-care, and be more realistic about how many commitments I can actually handle. This means that I reach out and connect with other people more. After working with Miriam, there are still more changes I want to make and places I want to go, but I know that most of the shifts I made are permanent, and because of having had success in many areas, I now have the tools to go after my other health goals.

In such a short amount of time, Miriam helped me eliminate gluten with wonderful results! Through her advice I have tips for eating well and saving time. I now eat more vegetables, which is surprising that as a former vegetarian I did not eat enough vegetables at every meal. I'm also eating real whole grains not just eating whole wheat bread and thinking that's good for me. I regularly eat an assortment of grains i never heard of before.
